Our Team

Collectively, GirlSource staff members bring dozens of years’ of commitment and experience to the development of underserved youth. Along with their job responsibilities, each is a worthy role model for the young women who participate in our programs.

Leticia Hernandez
Executive Director

Leticia Hernandez joined the staff of GirlSource in August 2007. She was the former executive director of Making Waves in Marin and Director of Education at Jamestown Community Center in the Mission. A first generation college student, she earned a B.A. in English from Scripps College in 1993. In 1994, she received her M.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania. She taught courses in Women Studies and Latino literature at the University of Pennsylvania and San Francisco State University. Leticia began fulfilling her commitment to youth empowerment in 1991 and has since continued working with community based organizations throughout California. Her writing has been published in various literary journals, anthologies, and newspapers, and she is currently a S.F. Arts Commission Individual Artist Grantee.

Cindy Masuda
Administrative Associate

Cindy Masuda, our Administrative Associate, is bringing over 8 years of office experience to our organization.  Her desire to be part of a dynamic group that supports young women brought her GirlSource.  She looks forward to lending her skills to help keep GirlSource running smoothly for years to come, and being a positive presence for the GirlSource community.

Dylan Mira
Technology and Leadership Educator
Dylan Mira is an artist and educator with 10 years of experience collaborating with women and youth on social justice projects.  Formerly the Program Director of Beyond Media Education, she has also worked as a domestic violence shelter advocate, an ACLU peer educator, and film festival organizer.  After attending Columbia University, Dylan received her B.F.A in Film, Video and New Media from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has shown internationally in galleries, festivals, and museums.

Monique Rodriguez
Outreach Educator
Monique Rodriguez, our Outreach Educator, has worked with youth for the last 8 years.  Monique has experience with direct and non-profit governance, and has worked with organizations such as: America Reads, The Elle Baker Foundation: Books not Bars, and MUJER (Mujeres Unidas para Justicia, Education y Revolucion).  After receiving her B.A. in Sociology and Minor in Black Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, she also served as a board member with the Gardner Family Health Network.

Noelia Sanchez
Technology and Operations Director

Noelia Sanchez has ten years of experience working with web and multimedia technologies.  Along side her career as a Multimedia Designer, Ms. Sanchez has developed skills as an educator through her work with the Tech Museum, The College of San Mateo, and The Art Institute, San Francisco. Before beginning her work at GirlSource, Ms. Sanchez worked as a consultant providing strategic planning services to non-profits in the areas of website design, web marketing, online fundraising, and donor database management.
